Shrimp Taco

On our honeymoon we had great fish tacos and wanted to recreate it but I only had shrimp on hand. I was trying to find a recipe that used shrimp. I was able to come up with this recipe with the help of several suggestions off of WC! Serve with Spanish rice and salad!


 Shrimp Taco

Start to finish 30 minutes)

1/2 cup sour cream  (I used light)

3 tablespoons mayonnaise

3 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon ground chili powder

3 olive oil to coat pan

2 cloves garlic, finely chopped (I used minced)

11/2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined

Juice of 2-3 limes

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

red pepper flakes for taste

Low carb tortillas

3 cups shredded green lettuce


In a small bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, milk and chili powder; set aside.

Coat pan with olive oil and heat. Add garlic and lime juice…cook about 2-3 minutes. Add shrimp and saute. Season the shrimp with the salt and red pepper flakes. Saute until shrimp is done. Transfer to tortillas. Serve with cream sauce, lettuce, and salsa. Sides include Spanish rice and salad!
