Balsamic glazed cracked pepper seared salmon

What a great clean meal. We definitely needed it after a long weekend of partying. We had a great birthday party for myself and a friend on Saturday that drifted into Sunday afternoon as well, so our bodies definitely needed some good wholesome healthy foods! I found this recipe on Sparkrecipes and not only was it very good, but easy to make with as exhausted as we are today! I paired it with brown rice and steamed veggies and it was perfect!

ENJOY!

Ingredients:
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp olive oil
1/3 cup of balsamic vinegar
Red pepper flakes, to taste
Sea salt and cracked black pepper, to taste
4 wild caught salmon fillets {about 5 oz each}

Directions:
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season both sides of salmon with salt and cracked pepper. Add salmon to skillet and cook 1 to 2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together vinegar and honey. Add vinegar mixture to skillet and simmer until fish is fork-tender and liquid reduces and thickens, about 5 minutes. For a thicker, reduced sauce, simmer for 5 to 10 additional minutes.

  1. This is all kinds of wonderful – it’s making me very hungry just looking at it! By the way, what are those sweetie-biscuity things that look like burgers on your header? They look both clever and scrummy!
